Workshop & Zine: AR and the Politics of Social Memory
Altered States: AR and the Politics of Urban Social Memory
Whose stories dominate urban memory? Who is “allowed” to participate in the process of placemaking? How do we construct alternative modes of engaging with a public space?
This zine was developed to supplement the curriculum of a Pioneer Works workshop co-taught with Zoe Bachman. The workshop was aimed at teaching artists and activists how to use augmented reality (AR) to imagine alternative narratives in a process of communal fact creation. We taught tactics for designing speculative futures as well as methods for critically observing and engaging with space.
You can access and print a copy of the zine here. You can read more about the workshop we taught here.
